Ginsberg Generative

Another entry into the Nice Shoes Verses series, Ginsberg is a visual generated from the spoken word of Allen Ginsberg reciting his poem "In Back of the Real."  For this film we explored an animated waveform, generated from Allen Ginsberg's own voice.  There are no traditional keyframes in the waveform animation, vibratory vocal tones combined with fractal algorithms alone created the waveform effect.  Once we established the system, we then animated a camera to create the shots for the editorial as well as for the stereography.   

Since any audio could work, including a live reading of "In Back of the Real," we extended the Ginsberg project into a realtime generative audio app for iPhone and iPad.  Through connecting with a small server program, in this case running on a Mac attached to a large LCD display, the Ginsberg app can run remotely using the gyroscope inside of the iPhone/iPad for onscreen navigation.
